Befday2 Tengku

26/11/2008
7.00pm

2 3 hari sebelum befday nya, Tengku sibok dok cakap kat saya befday die 26/11. Pada 26/11 tu, of course I've forgotten, but she reminded me again, ingat nak buat bodoh jer. Just wish happy befday, okla tuh. Bila balik kelas petang, I told Kauthar "today's Tengku's befday".
"Let's go buy cake"She said. Really??? Malasnya. Tapi pegila jugak membeli kek di Italy Bakery.

The first photo was taken without befday gal. Saje nak amek gamba gadis melayu bersama cake sahaja. It took place in TasTas's room, sebab plg depan. After that, kami nak bawak kek tuh gi bilik Tengku, sekali terserempak b4 sampai bilik nya.. Haha.Nasib baik Kauthar yang bawak kek tuh tak terlambung ke muka Tengku. 2nd and 3rd pictures are the events occur. Tah apelah jadahnya kami gi letak kek atas iron board, padahal lantai tu luas, siap karpet lg. Semua orang pon tak perasan, bile nak makan. " Eh apesal kite makan berdiri?"
4th photo, befday gal comot, saya la yang buat tuh.. haha

So, penah sekali saya terdengar member2 cakap, celebrate befday ialah HARAM, sebab menyamai ratu ape tah, tiup2 lilin, pastu orang datang wish2 kepadanya. (kisah dolu2 la nih, zaman bila pon tak pasti)

Ni yang saya dapat daripada http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?pagename=IslamOnline-English-Ask_Scholar/FatwaE/FatwaE&cid=1218386145936

The eminent Muslim scholar Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, a renowned scholar and d a`iyah, stated,

In fact, Prophet Muhammad's (peace and blessings be upon him) hadith in which he said that Allah Almighty replaced the pre-Islamic celebrations with `Eid Al-Fitr and `Eid Al-Adha for Muslims means that in the pre-Islamic era people used to worship their gods in their celebrations, but Muslims should adhere to their two `Eids and worship Allah therein.

Also, the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) hadith that asserts that whoever imitates others (non-Muslims) will be with them in the Hereafter applies to imitating them in what constitutes disbelief.

Given the above, I see that celebrating birthdays are social, not religious occasions. This issue does not deserve such a big fuss. If children or parents wish to celebrate specific occasions (such as birthdays and weddings), it is OK.

All in all, I do recommend that parents make use of such occasions to implant Islamic ethics in the hearts of their young ones. For example, in the occasion of birthdays, they could remind their kids of Allah's favors and how we should be grateful to Him.

As for the issue of candles and the like, they are not big issues to make Shari`ah ruling on them. So, let's not build Shari`ah rulings on such minor issues.

Kesimpulannya, dulu Rasulullah cume sambut kedua2 hari raya. Tapi sape2 nak celebrate befday masing2 OK je, cume janganla berlebih2an, dan bersyukurlah atas nikmat usia yang Allah berikan. Gunakan sebaik2 nya untuk beribadah padaNya. Dan ingatlah, semakin meningkat umur kita, semakin dekat kita dengan kematian (not always follow the rules)
